Our April meeting brought the good news that our grant request to the Big Walnut Creek
Watershed Conservancy was successful. We were awarded a sum that will really help get the pollinator garden moving forward.
The lesson informed us that the Carolina Chickadee is dependent on literally 1,000's of caterpillars to bring just one clutch of babies to adulthood. Consider planting native species of plants in your gardens this spring. Native plants attract the insects and caterpillars that native birds depend on for their survival.
The club's next meeting will be at the Lincoln Park shelter on May 14. Also the club will be offering for sale bags of canna nodes at the community garage sale being held at 17 Mill Springs, May 5-7.
