June's meeting was a garden walk arranged by a member. It took place in Cloverdale and the gardens visited were gorgeous. It's always fun to see what others are doing with their projects.
Speaking of projects, our pollinator garden, the newest additions received a haircut. Protocol dictates spring mowing the first year. It broke my heart to cut down spider wort that was blooming along with other early flowering plants but if mowing isn't done, the garden could become a weed patch. Early mowing prevents weeds from seeding and spreading while the native flowers and grasses will recover.
Our July meeting date is Thursday the 14th at 9:30am. We will meet at the clubhouse and most likely start planning for fall. Hope to see you.
