Government Committee report 3/8/2021


Quarterly Health Board meeting 2/11/2021

  • First meeting by new Health Officer Dr. Amos who recognized new hires Brian Williams, Preparedness Coordinator and Health Educator for full time, relieving some duties from clinical staff for Covid and regular Health Dept duties that have been idled due to Covid, such as school visits for regular vaccinations. Also recognized 3 part time Covid clinic staff for recent PC Fairgrounds Covid clinic

  • Unpaid Volunteers for Covid Clinic recognized for community service, including CERT Team and other community members

  • Health Dept still performing routine vaccinations at PCH office

  • Search is still on for 2nd County Health Nurse, alert any potential candidates to apply

  • Qtrly meetings now scheduled to be held at the PC Courthouse Clerks Court, next meeting date is May 13th at 6:30pm

Commissioners meeting 2/15/2021

  • Approved county funding for 2nd Health Dept Nurse

  • CCCD appeared to petition PC Hwy Dept to pave road over HL dam per INDOT inspection, Hwy confirmed scheduled for 2022. Reason: Unsealed cracks in pavement may contribute to unstable dam conditions

  • EMS appeared to advise that backup ambulance needs replacing, revisit at 2/18 special meeting

Commissioners/Hwy special meeting 2/18/2021

  • Reserve ambulance burnt this day, possible loaner from Morgan Co. New vehicle purchase approved for $188k from Fire Services, Inc

  • Still awaiting delivery new dump trucks

  • Usual annual schedule for road resurfacing. HL roads scheduled for last year to be done this year, all in JV: Richmond Dr from Heritage Drive #41 to Delaware; Mount Vernon from Heritage Dr #43 to Heritage Dr #49; Yorktown from Heritage Dr #46 to Mount Vernon. All will be the Grind, Double ChipnSeal method.

Council meeting 2/19/2021 Canceled due to snow storm


Commissioners meeting 3/1/2021

  • Commissioners debated and approved a motion to update County Covid policies to include re-opening of PC courthouse with no screening but mask mandate still in place for all county offices.

  • Health Dept provided update on case rates and positivity, both down. Continue to mask up and distance for protection. Modern and J&J vaccines now available from March 3. No choice for vaccine, registrant will receive what is being distributed at facility that day.

  • EMS appeared to advise that Medic 1 ambulance is now down also, loaner from Brownsburg to keep 3 in operation. EMS will present 10 year capital outlay plan at next Council meeting.

Next Gov Comm meeting Thursday Mar 25 at 10am.
