• Health Dept has hired a second Health Nurse, who will start May 2.
• Commissioners voted unanimously to remove mask requirement for county offices. Mask and distancing continue to be recommended.
• Multiple county residents appeared to convey deplorable road conditions on their streets. We are not alone, but there is a 10yr? schedule for entire HL area to be resurfaced. This plan rolled out about 3 years ago, and is 1 year behind due to COVID-19 interruption last year. Schedule for some of JV (previously reported) will occur this summer.
• Hwy Dept reportedly awaiting word on Community Crossings grant award before requesting bids on (hot mix) paving work in the county, as this would be the primary funding source.
• Commissioners announced that the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) recently awarded three grants to local governments for small businesses’ COVID relief: $250k to Putnam County, $250k to City of Greencastle and $153,840 to Town of Bainbridge. Details in the Banner-Graphic.
