ABCs of Heritage Lake
P - Pickleball
Pickleball is the game with the funny name but a committed following here at the lake. This fervent crowd started with a pickleball clinic and now plays every Wednesday at 6:30 pm and Saturdays at 8 am on the courts behind the clubhouse.
The game is great because it is competitive but fun, fast paced and social. It’s a cross between ping pong and tennis that is played with a solid paddle and wiffle ball. It is perfect for intergenerational play because it isn’t about power or speed but finesse and placement. The court is half the size of a tennis court so there isn’t a lot of running either. We joke that it is the only game that requires a lawn chair—to rest and catch up with your neighbors while you wait for the next game!
If you want to meet new people, have fun and get a little exercise, come play here at Heritage Lake. We’re a patient, welcoming bunch and will be happy to teach you the basics.

Just an added note: The Pickleballers asked the POA Board of Directors to budget money for repairs to tennis/pickleball courts. The board agreed to take it under advisement for next 2023.
